Step 4 Reopening Update

Posted: 19th of July 2021

From today, Monday 19th July, St Barnabas Centre is fully reopened.

Most legal restrictions to control COVID-19 have been lifted at step 4. This means that:

  • You do not need to stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with. There are also no limits on the number of people you can meet.

  • The requirement to wear face coverings in law has been lifted. However, the Government expects and recommends that people wear face coverings in crowded areas such as public transport.

  • There are no longer limits on the number of people who can attend weddings, civil partnerships, funerals and other life events (including receptions and celebrations). There is no requirement for table service at life events, or restrictions on singing or dancing. You should follow guidance for weddings and funerals to reduce risk and protect yourself and others.

  • There are no longer restrictions on group sizes for attending communal worship. COVID-19 has not gone away, so it’s important to remember the actions you can take to keep yourself and others safe. Everybody needs to continue to act carefully and remain cautious.

Please DO NOT visit the Centre if you are suffering from any of the known symptoms/awaiting test results/covid positive.

In order to provide you with a safe and covid secure environment, this is what you can expect when you attend the Centre:

The use of face masks will no longer be law, our staff are happy to continue to wear them while on shift if you request them to and you are more than welcome to wear one if you wish to. It's entirely your choice.

We will no longer be required to make sure that everyone checks in. We will leave the QR codes dotted around the Centre for those who wish to check in.

We will continue to provide hand sanitiser and cleaning materials in all rooms for you to use during your visit. Staff will continue to follow enhanced cleaning procedures and clean and disinfect public areas, touch points etc.

We are no longer required to enforce social distancing, however, please be aware that many people will wish to continue to maintain a distance of two metres. Please be mindful of those around you.

We will continue to open windows and peg back doors to allow for adequate ventilation.

Our diary is now open for party/celebration bookings, we will be following our risk assesment and cleaning all equipment (tables, bouncy castles etc...) using our enhanced cleaning procedures both during and between each and every booking.
